I generally do scroll work as a break from turning.  Most of the items you'll see below are from patterns that I purchased.  However, if there is a specific item you'd like to see, I would be happy design something for you.

Click on the thumbnails below to view a larger image of any item.

Prices for scroll-saw work start at $3.00 for small Christmas ornaments, and range up to $100 for the larger Glory to God plaque or the tiger.

Two of my larger scroll works are the eagle's head and the lion's head below.  This is what is called "scroll art", where a single piece of wood is cut apart into individual pieces, and then put back together like a jigsaw puzzle after each of the individual pieces have been colored.  Both of the pieces below were cut from a single width of Ash, and colored with Watco penetrating oil.

The eagle won an Honorable Mention at the 2003 Artistry in Wood show at the Dayton Airport Expo Center, and sells for $300.

The lion was a Second Place, and Second Place Best of Show at the 2003 Artistry in Wood show at the Dayton Airport Expo Center, and sells for $500.

While I'd love to take credit for the designs, neither are original.
